About

My Mission Statement:

It is my mission to promote equity and accessibility within and beyond the world of higher education by implementing the principles of queer intersectional feminism and anti-racism, advocating for the educational and human rights of all students and families, and helping students devise and achieve their own personal and professional goals in academia without sacrificing their individual wellbeing.

Meet Miller

They/Them Pronouns (What's this?)

I am proud to say that I graduated with cum laude honors from an Ivy League university with two majors and two senior theses. I am also proud to say that I spent three years applying to over thirty universities and auditioning for several dozen theatre programs, abandoned my first university on the eve of my first day, decided to transfer out of my second university before my first winter break rolled around, and chose to add an entire sociology major in addition to my theatre directing major with only three semesters of college remaining. I am living proof that the collegiate path to success is not necessarily quick, simple, nor straightforward.

(WRITTEN BADLY: )When I refer to the collegiate path to success, I don't measure success by prestige or brand-name recognition; I mean success i.e., whether or not my college education granted me the experiential and academic wisdom and skills that I really needed. And mine did. My own college admissions journey is what led me to discover my passions for sociology and theatre directing, and thereafter earn a degree in both subjects and find success in my niche intersection of college admissions, theatre, and sociological advocacy.

If I hadn't taken the road less traveled by, I never would have found my niche. Sure, I could have received an excellent education from a number of the institutions that sent me an acceptance letter, but

Talk about how I realized, despite my ultimate success, I really could have had MORE support along the way, however, and that the system is incredibly unfair and poorly designed... and that's where I sparked my passion to become a CAC.

Talk about my senior thesis in gender & sexuality and college admissions. Talk about my specialty in theatre programs and auditions. Talk about how all that stuff intertwines.

Talk about my beginning my CAC work pro-bono for little cousins and old friends, and how it developed into this.

Talk about my work with Berkeley and the high school kids, and maybe mention Lesley.

Loop it all back to my mission statement and what I believe in as a CAC.
